Who We Are
MWM Matt Window Mate is a family-run business based in Glasgow, owned and operated by skilled craftsman Matthew, his wife Sylwia and their daughter Maja. We specialise in the like-for-like replacement and performance enhancement of traditional timber sash and case windows for period and listed homes across Glasgow.
Our work combines traditional joinery craftsmanship with modern glazing technology to deliver long-term comfort, efficiency and durability, while preserving architectural heritage.
Our Approach
We are passionate about preserving the character and architectural heritage of Victorian and Georgian homes. Our priority is to provide sensitive replacement solutions that retain the authenticity and intricate detailing of the originals while significantly improving comfort, warmth and performance.
Where selected elements of existing windows can be retained or enhanced, we approach them with care and respect for the building’s history. Our bespoke energy-efficient double-glazed timber sash windows are custom-crafted to replicate traditional profiles, ensuring a seamless, conservation-appropriate appearance that allows period homes to be enjoyed comfortably for generations to come.
Our
Story
Originally from Poland, we moved to Scotland over 19 years ago and quickly fell in love with Glasgow’s iconic stone-built Victorian and Georgian architecture. Inspired by the craftsmanship and character of these homes, Matthew honed his specialist skills within the conservation window industry before founding MWM Matt Window Mate.
Today, Sylwia manages operations, customer care, media and project organisation, while Matthew remains hands-on with every installation, ensuring precision workmanship and personal responsibility from start to finish.
Maja is an integral part of our team. She recently graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Architecture (BSc) and is now undertaking her Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Strathclyde.
She plays a key role in providing technical drawings and documentation for clients seeking permission to install energy-efficient double-glazed timber sash windows in Glasgow’s conservation areas. Her expertise ensures that our applications and proposals are accurate, professionally prepared and fully aligned with conservation regulations — helping clients progress confidently through planning processes.
