Located in the Southside of Glasgow, Tony and Eileen contacted MWM Matt Window Mate seeking a long term solution to the severe heat loss, condensation and draughts caused by their original single-glazed sash windows. Many of which were rotten, painted shut and no longer functioning. They hoped to improve comfort and energy efficiency without compromising the traditional character of their beautiful period home.

Together, we planned a full upgrade using bespoke double-glazed timber sash and case windows, handcrafted to replicate the original profiles while integrating discreet modern glazing for warmth, acoustic control and durability. We also installed a custom made timber entrance door to complement the property’s exterior, a new timber casement window at the rear and satin privacy glass to a bathroom window for improved light control and discretion.
The homeowners selected contemporary chrome hardware, creating a refined modern finish that blends elegantly with the building’s traditional features.
Despite minor delays during the Covid-19 lockdown, regular communication throughout the process ensured a smooth and well-coordinated installation.
The completed project has transformed the home — improving thermal comfort, reducing condensation, enhancing security and restoring full functionality to every window, all while strengthening the original aesthetic and increasing property value.
