Improving the look and energy efficiency of windows of a significant B Listed baronial sandstone residence in “The Avenues’” of West Pollokshields
 

This beautiful style of W F MacGibbon Scots baronial mansion, built circa 1886 is located “The Avenues’” of West Pollokshield is overflowed with charm and essential features of a period building.

 

Internally the property displays many fine period features, most notably stained/leaded glass.

 

The owners love the look of the traditional timber windows but needed them to be fully operational in order to be able to open them in the summer months whilst retaining heat in the winter.

 

The timber sash windows received a complete renovation by, including a complex refurb of existing timber window boxes and sashes, windowsills, new sash cords followed by installing the unique draught-proofing system, which improves the energy efficiency of the windows by sealing up the gaps around to eradicate draughts and rattles.

 

This provides enhanced energy efficiency without altering the appearance of the window.

 

The windows were re-pointed and decorated to complete the job.
