Original timber sash windows of this significant sandstone detached villa have been given a bright new outlook, thanks to the experts at MWM Matt Window Mate.

 

The property is located within a Conservation area of Southside Glasgow so keeping the original look of the building was a high priority.

For the homeowners, the main thing was that the aesthetical characteristics were not affected.

 

Early inspection showed poor condition of the existing timber sash windows.

In total, 20 sash and case windows required MWM’s specialist treatment. 

 

Condition of the sashes varied with a number of sills being completely rotten.

After a very complex and specialistic renovation, MWM Matt Window Mate installed the Professional Weather Seal System to upgrade the performance the windows in the following ways: eliminate draughts, reduce noise, dirt and dust ingress, prevent rattles, improve energy efficiency and energy retention.

 

Windows were given a modern twist with a contemporary “Merlin”, Dulux Trade paint.
