This beautiful, traditional, red-stone townhouse is situated within a conservation area of Glasgow's West End.
This exceptional family home has a lot of character, charm and original period features like traditional stained-glass windows.
REPLICATED THE ORIGINAL DESIGN
Katie had a strong need to replace her old, single-glazed windows with a new double-glazed timber option that retained the period aesthetics.
We carefully planned this project to help the homeowners with problems associated with street noise, draughts and condensation from their old single glazed windows.
We designed new windows to keep within the building character and to improve the energy efficiency of this family home.

ORIGINAL STAINED-GLASS IN NEW WINDOWS
The existing stained glass was removed from the old window frames and carefully restored in the studio. The original stained-glass was encapsulated between two layers of double-glazed units.
This is high performing and looks great as well.

Those timber double-glazed stained-glass windows are beautiful, handmade, which combine the skills of traditional stained-glass with the benefits of double-glazing, providing the security and insulation of a double-glazed window whilst retaining the style and visual impact of a traditional sliding timber windows. A total of 10 windows across the home have now been replaced. All are finished in ‘" Wimborne White" Farrow and Ball.
